Discover the Woman behind Wonder Woman: Unveiling Gal Gadot’s Roots and Nationality

Gal Gadot, who played the iconic role of Wonder Woman, will be gracing the stage at the upcoming 2018 Oscars. Although her hit movie did not receive any nominations this year, the talented actress will attend as a presenter. Gadot has become one of Hollywood’s rising stars and has been recognized for her portrayal of the feminist superhero. She received the National Board of Review’s Spotlight Award and was recently nominated for a Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Award. Prior to her successful acting career, Gadot served two years in the Israeli army.

Born in Petah Tikva, Israel, the celebrity began their military service at the age of 20, as it is required by law for both men and women over the age of 18 in Israel. JON KOPALOFF/FILMMAGIC captured their image.

In a 2015 interview with Fashion magazine, Gal Gadot shared that her time in the army didn’t pose a significant challenge for her. In fact, the military provided her with excellent training that she could use in Hollywood. Interestingly, before joining the army, Gadot had won the Miss Israel title when she was only 18 years old. She even competed in the Miss Universe pageant held in Ecuador. Following the end of her reign, she enlisted in the military and worked as a combat instructor.

After completing two years of service in the army, the actress enrolled at IDC Herzliya college to pursue a degree in law and international relations. During her time as a law student, a casting director approached Gadot to audition for the role of a Bond girl in “Quantum of Solace”. Initially, she declined the offer, stating that she was too serious and intelligent to become an actress, and that the script was entirely in English which made her uncomfortable despite being proficient in the language. This information was shared by Gadot in an interview with “W” magazine in 2017.

Although she didn’t land the role, her love for acting grew and soon after she secured a spot in an Israeli television series. She decided to drop out of school after only one year. Later on, the same casting director who overlooked her initially eventually offered her a part in the film “Fast & Furious” where she played the character Gisele. This opportunity prompted her to move to the United States to pursue acting full-time, and the rest is history.

Gal Gadot, popularly known for her role as Wonder Woman, currently lives in Los Angeles with her spouse, Yaron Versano, and their two lovely daughters, Maya and Alma.
